Since my childhood, art has been my lifelong passion and the primary way I express my convictions. As a black artist based in Dallas, Texas, I take immense pride in my culture and feel incredibly grateful for the gift of creativity and the ability to create. My artistic repertoire encompasses a wide spectrum, ranging from biblical art to abstract expressions. I set forth to challenge stereotypes, provoke thought, and to inspire.

In the artwork titled "African Queen," the artist's intention is to capture and celebrate the exquisite beauty and dignity of a woman of color. Through this portrayal, the artist aims to challenge the prevailing Eurocentric notion of beauty that has historically dominated fashion magazines and media.
By representing a woman of color as the subject of beauty and admiration, the artwork reflects a shift towards inclusivity and a recognition of the inherent beauty found in diverse cultures. It challenges the narrow standards of beauty that have often excluded and marginalized individuals who do not fit the traditional Eurocentric ideals.
The term "African Queen" used in the title serves as a symbolic representation of the timeless nobility that has existed within African culture and countries. it acknowledges the rich history, heritage, and regal traditions that have been part of African societies.
In essence, this artwork celebrates the beauty, strength, and dignity of women of color and aims to broaden the perspective of beauty by challenging the prevailing Eurocentric standards. It promotes inclusivity and recognition of th diverse and multifaceted nature of beauty found across different cultures and ethnicities.
